The Raidió Fáilte, Belfast Irish language radio station to welcome visitors from a group of European community radio stations. Minority languages li as languages of lesser stations that broadcast. The visit is part of a European project for the exchange of best practices and knowledge among community radio stations and is maonaithe the European Grundtvig program. Involved in this project, a group of radio stations from different countries in Europe: Austria, Basque Country, France, Spain and Ireland, north and south. The representatives from these stations are visiting Belfast for three days at the end of January.
Have visited their representatives as part of the agenda set up by Radio Welcome to make people aware of the language and to gain widespread support for the language here in Belfast and beyond. Radio staff members went to visit Welcome to some of the other radio stations cheanaféin. While they are in Belfast, the group from Europe to visit the studio and Radio Welcome to Irish broadcasting centers in the city.
Radio Welcome been involved in many projects to help the promotion of the Irish language in Ireland and across Europe. Last year, recording a new CD Welcome Radio in partnership with Belfast City Council, a CD of music from various li schools li in Belfast recorded as part of the European Day of Languages at City Hall, Belfast.
Wireless Manager says Welcome, li Fergus O'Hare, a Grundtvig project worthwhile project so that community broadcasters learn from each other and they gather more experience in the sector. 'It is both interesting and worthwhile to get familiar with the work being undertaken by other community stations broadcasting in minority languages,' says Fergus O'Hare.
Welcome Radio is running training li courses on a regular basis for speakers who are interested in broadcasting. You can listen li to Radio 107.1FM Welcome to Belfast li and www.raidiofailte.com anywhere else in the world.
