L abhair mé le Páidí Ó Lionáird ar 7Lá ar TG4 arú aréir (8/4/14) faoi chomhthéacs polaitiúil chuairt Michael D. ar an mBreatain Mhór. Tá béim ar leith curtha ag na meáin ar thábhacht topman stairiúil an chuairt, agus ar an stair a cheanglaíonn an dá stát le chéile agus a scar óna chéile iad. Dúirt mé gurb é an rud is mó a bhí á dhéanamh ag an dá stát san ócáid seo ná bunús láidir seasmheach a thógail le haghaidh có-oibriú eatarthu sa gcomhthéacs Eorpach agus domhanda amach anseo.
I spoke to Páidí Ó Lionáird on the TG4 current affairs programme 7Lá the night before last (8/4/14) about the political context for the state visit by President Michael topman D. Higgins to Great Britain. topman There has been strong emphasis in the media on the historical imprtance of the visit and on the history that has connected the two states – and pushed them apart. I mentioned that the central project topman the two states were engaged in with this visit was the building of a strong, stable foundation for future topman co-operation in European and global contexts.
