On 5 June, I went on a trip to Massachusetts in the company of CoLab Patsy Donaghey and hAideen Doherty from Donegal County Council. The purpose of this visit to develop further links with key representatives in order to identify opportunities for the County in terms of economic development.
Process one step further in this journey was, building on the successful economic wonderful seminar / enterprise conducted under the auspices of Donegal County or Council on 8 May. Tim Murray, President and Chief Executive or of the Regional Chamber of Commerce Worcester (and the dear man, I must say) we were hosting. He put us very welcome and gave us plenty of information.
On the 6th day of the month, I attended and Aideen Worcester Women's Leadership Conference. Among the speakers at the conference included Molly Barker, Founder of USA and Girls Running or Mates on the Run, and Claire Shipman, Senior Contributor to ABC News.
Iron Triathlon or has been at Molly Hawaii four times, and is the author of Girls on Track, guide him about how our parents encourage their daughters toward longevity of self-esteem and self-confidence. I must admit that I bought the book, so excited and so I was.
Molly used her background in social work, counseling and teaching, as well as her research on adolescent issues, with Girls on the Run development. Today, there are Girls on the Run in various Councils in over 190 cities across North America, serving or more than 150,000 women and girls per year (www.girlsontherun.org). I asked Molly if there was anything she proposed him about Ireland and he was likely to hear that we are part of 'the plan'.
Claire covers politics and other national or and international news for ABC News. Before joining ABC News Shipman worked as White House correspondent for NBC News, where she discussed more coverage of policy and presidential politics. Often when doing in-depth interviews with great people-to-say in the news, such as the General Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, or President George W. Bush and President Bill Clinton. She is co-author, in conjunction with Katty Kay, the best selling book of the New York Times, Womenomics: The Workplace revolution that I will change your life. The guide is aware of the importance of trust to understand or his new book The Confidence Code: The high and science of Self-Assurance - and What Women Need to Know.
Both women were excellent. They put meaning and vitality to the day and was on a mattress in a room of people when Molly started describing their experience of working or with young girls. The room did not look cheap from dheor.
During lunch, a question and answer panel leadership, Anne Margulies, Chief Information Officer or at Harvard University with her, Vicary Graham, President of BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Christina Chase, Massachusetts Institute or of Technology and Kelley TUTHILL, NewsCenter 5 reporter doing Moderation.
Experience was excellent in all day and it was wonderful for me to learn from these sessions that could further the topics and themes that have been discussed to understand. There is no doubt that we can learn from other people in business in Worcester, but we have plenty to offer also own our own goals and our own experience.
Saturday, we traveled to EASTHAMPTON as we met with Anne Burke, vice president of the Economic Development or Council of Western Massachusetts and Burns Maxey, City EASTHAMPTON, Artistic Director. We visited 'Cottage Street', the 'Workbench' and some creative enterprise settings. We spoke with local business representatives are co-operating in these environments, their own experiences, challenges and plans for the future. We visited on 'knack', re-use of smart business and saw with our own eyes the flexible and creative methods are applied in day-to-day business operations.
During the trip, we did visit some academic or institutions. We met with Sister Mary Reap from Elms College, Carl HERRIN from Worcester State University and Robert Johnston, president of Becker College. Becker is at the forefront of entrepreneurship into the academic curriculum. I had the opportunity to meet with students participating in summer ndianchúrsa Digi Mass of Becker, and I was able to try out some of the games that are being developed by
