Epaphroditus. A Christian Macedonian Philippi. There is no reason to identify with Epaphras in Colossians 1: 7; Philemon 4:12 or 23. His name means "pleasant" or "charming". Paul calls him "the messenger (messenger) you" (hymon Apostolon, Philippians 2:25), where the term used is often translated in other places where it appears with "apostle". This does not mean that Epaphroditus held any office in the church at Philippi; he was only a messenger centro (cf. 2 Cor 8:23) which resulted from a church but for Paul, imprisoned in Rome. He became seriously ill, perhaps as a result of the effort made the journey from Philippi to Rome, or during Paul's ministry in Rome. In Philippians 2:30 tells us that "put his life at stake." The word used is paraboleusamenos, "risked his life" centro at paraboleuesthai, "raising, venturing".
